REVERBNATION and ASG MUSIC GROUP, the joint venture between ALCON ENTERTAINMENT and SLEEPING GIANT MEDIA LLC, are offering emerging artists and bands a chance to submit an original song for the filmmakers of ALCON's upcoming remake of "Point Break," to be considered for possible use as an end title song or in the film's media/advertising campaign. The announcement was made by ALCON co-founders/co-CEOs BRODERICK JOHNSON and ANDREW KOSOVE.
"Point Break," a re-imagining of the classic action thriller, is directed by ERICSON CORE and stars LUKE BRACEY, EDGAR RAMIREZ, TERESA PALMER, RAY WINSTONE and DELROY LINDO with cameos by DJ STEVE AOKI along with SETH TROXLER and THE ART DEPARTMENT. WARNER BROS. is releasing the film nationwide on CHRISTMAS DAY.
GRAMMY-winning producer/SLEEPING GIANT MEDIA Co-CEO KEN CAILLAT (father of singer COLBIE) said, "To my knowledge this has never been done with a film of this magnitude. We are excited to give independent artists this global opportunity."
ASG MUSIC GROUP Co-CEO MICHAEL HODGES added: "We are confident that if we can find the right song we can transform an artist or band from a street corner to a global stage."
Bands can start submitting songs beginning this week for consideration by the filmmakers. This incredible opportunity is available to artists, writers and bands around the globe.
"We are thrilled to be able to provide such a high level opportunity to the bands in our community," said REVERBNATION Chief Creative Officer SIMON PERRY. "VICTORIA CAMERA in our L.A. office has built strong relationships with the film and television community and this agreement with ASG MUSIC is an important milestone for us. KEN and MICHAEL's belief in REVERBNATION is a huge validation of our curation capabilities and of the quality of music on our roster."
