A suit filed last week in U.S District Court in the Central District of CALIFORNIA targets iHEARTMEDIA for pre-1972 music streaming royalties for iHEARTRADIO.
ARTHUR and BARBARA SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS residents and the owners of master recordings of several pre-1972 songs by THE FLAMINGOS, THE MOONGLOWS, T-BONE WALKER, JIMMY REED, and others, filed a would-be class action suit under CALIFORNIA law, where THE TURTLES sued SIRIUSXM over the issue as a class action, alleging that iHEARTMEDIA has "no license or other authority from Mr. or Mrs. SHERIDAN to reproduce, perform, stream or otherwise exploit their master recordings under CALIFORNIA law" and has not paid royalties.
