He will remain in his current position until the end of JULY. The new label will be an offshoot of the BIG LOUD MOUNTAIN publishing and management company, which is owned by JOEY MOI, CRAIG WISEMAN, SETH ENGLAND and KEVIN ZARUK. A full promotion team including a VP is said to be in the works, as well as possible partnerships with existing label groups.
HUNNICUTT told ALL ACCESS, "iHEARTMEDIA is the most amazing media company on the planet. What the industry and listeners see and hear is only the tip of the iceberg. I’m very excited for the what the future holds with our new roll out with an amazing team, but at the same time will miss the people and team at iHEARTMEDIA greatly. TOM POLEMAN, BOB PITTMAN and RICH BRESSLER have been phenomenal to instill an entrepreneurial spirit in all of us and now giving me a chance to go pursue that. I can’t thank them enough!"
In a memo to the staff, Pres./National Programming Platforms TOM POLEMAN wrote, "After more than 15 years here with us, CLAY HUNNICUTT has decided to leave iHEARTMEDIA to become President of BIG LOUD RECORDS, a record label start-up. CLAY has not only been a great partner to me in the day to day operations of National Programming, he’s also become a great friend; I know you all feel the same. He’s been a pioneer and leader in shaping the great company that we are today, and for that I’ll always be thankful."
