Country group ALABAMA teased fans with a big announcement last week, leading up to a reveal over the WEEKEND. The legendary Country group, consisting of RANDY OWEN, TEDDY GENTRY and JEFF COOK, will release a new album, "Southern Drawl," on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th via BMG CHRYSALIS NORTH AMERICA. The group's last Country album of new material came in 2001; they have since released a live album and a Gospel project.
The lead single will be entitled "Wasn't Through Lovin' You Yet," and the group promises that the new material stays true to their roots while propelling their sound into the landscape of contemporary Country. "Country music when we took our vacation is not the same Country it is today," COOK told USA TODAY. "For people who knew the original ALABAMA, it's going to be a little different to their ears." Look for the 14-track project to debut nationwide in SEPTEMBER.
