U. Of Missouri, Stephens College Finally File With FCC On KWWC/Columbia, Mo Sale

STEPHENS COLLEGE is selling noncommercial '80s KWWC-F (SWEET 90.5)/COLUMBIA, MO to THE CURATORS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI for $50,000 cash and $50,000 in underwriting announcements over a five year period. The sale was initially announced last OCTOBER (NET NEWS 10/31), with the schools saying that KWWC will flip to Classical, while new sister KBIA will add News-Talk programming; STEPHENS will retain the KWWC calls and move programming online.
In other filings with the FCC, LISA LOPEZ is selling K221GC/AUSTIN, TX to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $26,000.
VIC MICHAEL's MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY TRANSLATORS, LLC is selling W296CD/JONESTOWN, PA to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $10.
SPIRIT COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has requested an extension of its Silent STA for K293AY/ENUMCLAW, WA due to weather-related damage.

Also, JOURNAL BROADCAST CORPORATION (now E.W. SCRIPPS) has filed an informal objection to 630 RADIO INC.'s application to upgrade Regional Mexican WREY-A/ST. PAUL, reports NORTHPINE.COM. The objection alleges that the changes, including a transmitter move and power increase, will cause interference to the nighttime signal of SCRIPPS News-Talk WTMJ-A/MILWAUKEE.
In CANADA, VISTA RADIO LTD. has won approval from the CRTC to move Oldies CJCS-A/STRATFORD, ON to FM. The station will flip to Rock at 107.1 FM with 4,000 watts at 32.6 meters above average terrain.
