iHEARTMEDIA/NASHVILLE announced two key staff appointments TODAY (8/14) as EMMA APPLEBOME was named Dir./Marketing for the six-station cluster, while Country WSIX Dir./Promotions KIMSEY KERR adds MD responsibilities for ‘SIX.
APPLEBOME joins from SONY RED, where she served as Mgr./SOUTHEAST Promotions. “NASHVILLE has certainly become my home in the last seven years, and it is one of the best places in the world to be part of the music industry,” said APPLEBOME. “I cannot wait to work with everyone at iHEARTMEDIA/NASHVILLE to implement fun and creative ways to further integrate [Top 40 WRVW] 107.5 THE RIVER, [Urban WUBT] 101.1 THE BEAT, [Classic Rock WNRQ] 105.9 THE ROCK, and [Alternative FM Translator W252CM/WNRQ-HD2] ALT 98.3 into the NASHVILLE community."
KERR joined the NASHVILLE cluster as Promotions coordinator in 2013, eventually rising to WSIX Dir./Promotions. A seven-year radio vet, KERR previously worked at EMMIS/INDIANPOLIS. As MD, she succeeds TYLER REESE, who left in in MAY and is now programming WEZL/CHARLETON, SC (NET NEWS 8/4).
“Country music is a huge part of my life," said KERR. “It has always been a goal of mine to be a part of THE BIG 98. It’s an honor to work closely with [iHEART/NASHVILLE SVP] MICHAEL BRYAN on this heritage Country station. I look forward to working with the artists and labels to share with the world all their talent. Radio is a captivating thing and I’m proud to work for it every day.”
Added BRYAN: “It’s an honor to bring on strong talent for IHEARTMEDIA/NASHVILLE and these two are no exception. KIMSEY’s work on THE BIG 98 has earned her this promotion and opportunity to focus on all things Country in NASHVILLE from music to promotions. I’m also equally excited to add EMMA’s depth of knowledge and passion for music and radio to lead all of our marketing and promotions efforts across the platform.”
