CMJ Music Marathon Set For New York, October 13th-17th

CMJ MUSIC MARATHON returns to NEW YORK CITY from OCTOBER 13th–17th, announcing a first round of performing artists featuring some of the best veteran, breakthrough and emerging artists from around the world.
Confirmed CMJ 2015 performers include acclaimed saxophonist KAMASI WASHINGTON, breakout CANADIAN singer/songwriter TOBIAS JESSO JR., returnees PERFECT PUSSY, gospel-jazz supergroup THE WORD featuring ROBERT RANDOLPH, JOHN MEDESKY and the NORTH MISSISSIPPI ALLSTARS, DRINKS the new collaboration between CATE LE BON and WHITE FENCE's TIM PRESLEY, SAINT PE, and SEATTLE-based WILL TOLEDO aka CAR SEAT HEADREST, who just announced his signing to MATADOR RECORDS.
Other artists heading to CMJ include breakout AUSTRALIAN rapper ALLDAY; PANDA BEAR; GLASWEGIAN garage-rockers WOMPS; MOSCOW-based new wave band POMPEYA; UK punk band ARROWS OF LOVE; BELGIAN indie rock band BALTHAZAR; NORWAY's psychedelic rockers DEATH BY UNGA BUNGA; acclaimed NEW ZEALAND crooner MARLON WILLIAMS, and much more. A few of the countries and international organizations hosting showcases are NEW ZEALAND, TAIWAN, the BRITISH CONSULATE, MUSIC FROM IRELAND, AUSSIE BBQ and CANADIAN BLAST.
A few of the showcases at CMJ 2015 include ASCAP, ATO RECORDS, AUSTIN PSYCHFEST, BBC, BERKLEE SCHOOL OF MUSIC, BROOKLYN VEGAN, FLOOD MAGAZINE, HARVEST RECORDS, NEON GOLD, SESAC, SUB POP RECORDS and THE SYNDICATE.
CMJ will host five nonstop days and nights of live performances in NEW YORK CITY's greatest venues, and will present four days of conference events with renowned speakers, an ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS LAW SEMINAR and COLLEGE DAY — a day programmed especially for college and non-commercial radio programmers. DREAM DOWNTOWN will be CMJ's new headquarters throughout the conference, conveniently located in NYC's MEATPACKING district.
