'Serial' Shift: Podcast Goes Bi-Weekly, Says It Needs More Time For Reporting

"SERIAL" is going from weekly to bi-weekly in a surprise move that Executive Producer JULIE SNYDER told the NEW YORK TIMES is because the show needs to accomodate additional reporting and a longer season than expected.
The show, produced by CHICAGO PUBLIC MEDIA News-Talk WBEZ/CHICAGO's "THIS AMERICAN LIFE," is four episodes into its second season, a look at the Sgt. BOWE BERGDAHL case, but episode 5, due TOMORROW, will now be released a week later, and subsequent episodes will be posted every other week. “There are more paths we need to go down,” SNYDER told the TIMES. “Since we started broadcasting the show, we have gotten more people willing to talk, and because of that, it has opened up more avenues of reporting.”
