The license of Regional Mexican WRJE-A (SABROSA RADIO)/DOVER, DE has been canceled after JOSE ROBERTO EKONOMO's EKO MEDIA GROUP, licensee of the station, failed to construct a conforming transmission tower in time; the station had been operating under an STA with temporary facilities since 1997 (EKO bought the station in MARCH 2012). EKONOMO complained in a letter to the Commission that he had been unable to find a site for the station and had problems with the present landlord over the land lease, which EKONOMO contended was part of the deal when he bought the station from the landlord. EKONOMO asked the Commission to let him operate the station solely to feed co-owned W286BS/MILFORD, DE. But the Commission said that its Section 312(g) letter sent on DECEMBER 2nd by certified mail never got a timely response (EKONOMO's letter was sent JANUARY 2nd and is stamped as received and inspected by the FCC mail room on JANUARY 11th), and the license was canceled on JANUARY 13th.
