NEXTRADIO has partnered with INTERCOLLEGIATE BROADCASTING SYSTEM to run a contest for college students to pick the best 60-second radio spots, with a grand prize winner getting their submission included in an upcoming NEXTRADIO flight.
College students nationwide are being asked to create and submit a 60-second radio spot promoting NEXTRADIO, the free app that allows listeners to experience live, local FM radio on their smartphone.
Entrants will get valuable experience creating a spot and the winner will get exposure for themselves and the spot they created. To learn more about the contest and to submit your radio spot, visit www.nextradioapp.com/collegecontest.
NEXTRADIO Pres. PAUL BRENNER commented: "We are pleased to work with IBS to get college students involved and informed about FM chips in smartphones. College students are perfect ambassadors to develop a NEXTRADIO app message that outlines how radio and digital come together. This is a great opportunity for a student to have their radio spot played nationally on thousands of broadcast stations and heard by millions."
Added IBS Pres. CHRIS THOMAS: "What an incredible opportunity NEXTRADIO is providing our students: a chance to attend the nation's premier college radio conference is one thing, but to be able to have their spot played for millions of listeners nationwide is simply phenomenal. We are proud to team up with NEXTRADIO to offer this experience of a lifetime."
The contest will run from TODAY though FEBRUARY 12th. Winners will be announced on FEBRUARY 22nd. The first-place winner will have their 60-second radio spot included in the 2016 flight two of the NEXTRADIO NATIONAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN starting MARCH 1st. In addition to having their radio spot played on-air across the country, the winner will win one (1) IBS CONFERENCE registration in NEW YORK CITY from MARCH 4th-5th, a three-night hotel stay at HOTEL PENNSYLVANIA from MARCH 3rd-6th, airfare travel to the conference (up to $500 value), $200 VISA gift card and recognition during the IBS conference.
