iHEARTMEDIA Country KTGX (106.1 THE TWISTER)/TULSA has named HOUSTON GAITHER MD/afternoons effective immediately. GAITHER is a former part time personality at SCRIPPS crosstown Country KWEN and on schedule to graduate in MAY with a Communications Degree from ROGERS STATE UNIVERSITY. Send congrats here.

GAITHER’s MD role is newly created, as he assumes music chores previously handled by TWISTER PD KRISTINA CARLYLE. Afternoons had been vacant since BUD AND BROADWAY exited last SUMMER (NET NEWS 6/23). Though his first airshift is TOMORROW (2/3), GAITHER will hold off on fielding music calls until JUNE, according to CARLYLE.
