A former CUMULUS Top 40 WAOA (107.1 A1A)/MELBOURNE, FL personality is suing the company for overtime wages.
DAVID VICKERY, known as TIMMY VEE on the air, was a longtime morning host on the station, on the air from 2000 through FEBRUARY 19, 2015. He alleges in the lawsuit that he "regularly and routinely performed at least forty-five hours of work per week" for the station, and was paid a salary ($42,000 a year from 2009 through 2015 with no raises), but that because he was not an executive or administrative employee, he was eligible for overtime wages under the Fair Labor Standards Act despite being under contract. He also alleges that he was not paid bonuses he had earned, in breach of his contract.
The suit was filed in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of FLORIDA, ORLANDO Division, on FRIDAY (2/12).
