RadioDays Europe 2016 Gets Underway

RADIODAYS EUROPE is underway in PARIS, and ALL ACCESS is there with correspondent ENDA CALDWELL reporting from the scene:
The event kicked off SUNDAY in Paris with over 700 delegates from 62 countries all over the world registered. Organizers are saying that they very happy with the first day’s attendance and the social session in the main hall is full to capacity.
Highlights of the day included the first two main workshops, "Create Powerful Radio" with consultant VALERIE GELLER (who is due to launch the French Language edition of her best-selling book “Creating Powerful Radio,” “Puissance Radio,” later this week) and a session on "Reinventing Radio Advertising" with RALPH VAN DIJK. Founder of EARDRUM AUSTRALIA. At the same time, the radio documentary “I AM WHAT I PLAY” made its European premiere, with director ROGER KING at a Q&A session after the screening. Another documentary, "ELETTRA," about Princess ELETTRA MARCONI, daughter of radio inventor GUGLIELMO MARCONI, had an exclusive screening later in the day; it will screen at the VATICAN for its world premiere. The Princess was unable to attend due to ill health but recorded a special message for the assembly.
The “Fast and Curious!” Networking session brought forth many new ideas, topics and challenges from both moderators and individual participants. The session, new to RADIODAYS, explored sharing solutions and experiences in a relaxed, informal setting, with 10 tables and 10 moderators including . There were 10 tables in total with 10 moderators including JACK FM/AUSTRALIA's IAN WALKER, REELWORLD's ANTHONY GAY, ACAST's SARAH VAN MOSEL, THE HEART's CAITLIN PRIEST, TBI MEDIA's PHIL CRITCHLOW, DAVID SYSTEMS' VINCENT BENVENISTE, RADIO KLASSIK/AUSTRIA's URSULA MAGNUS, and ABC CAPITAL CITY RADIO GROUP/AUSTRALIA's JEREMY MILLAR.
The day closed with an official Welcome Reception at LE PALAIS DES CONGRÈS, with Project Managers ANDERS HELD and ROLF BRANDRUD welcoming participants alongside RADIO FRANCE's MATHIEU BEUVAL.
The largest number of delegates is from this year's location, FRANCE, and all sessions are being translated into French courtesy of LES MÉDIAS FRANCOPHONES PUBLICS.
