The aftermath of the legal wrangling between BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE and TODD SCHNITT continues, with FOX O&O WTVT (FOX 13)/TAMPA reporting that SCHNITT, the iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk WOR-A/NEW YORK morning co-host and syndicated talker formerly known as Top 40 morning show host MJ, and his wife MICHELLE were sued by their attorneys for nonpayment of their legal bills for their failed defamation case against BUBBA, and are countersuing the attorneys for convincing them to file an unwinnable case.
The TV station reports that attorney PHIL CAMPBELL of SHUMAKER, LOOP AND KENDRICK took the SCHNITTS to court over a bill that totaled close to $1 million, and the SCHNITTS allege that CAMPBELL encouraged the suit and promoted a strategy of disrupting BUBBA's live promotional events, the latter allegation of which was contradicted by e-mails read in court from CAMPBELL to the couple.
CAMPBELL's DUI arrest during the trial led to a scandal in which three attorneys for BUBBA were determined to have set CAMPBELL up for arrest; they were disbarred as a result.
