HOKIE GAJAN, the former NEW ORLEANS SAINTS running back who became the team's radio analyst on ENTERCOM News-Talk WWL-A-F/NEW ORLEANS, died MONDAY night after a battle with liposarcoma. He was 56.
GAJAN, a BAKER, LA native, played at LSU and for the SAINTS, leading the NFL in rushing yards per carry in 1984. He later scouted for the SAINTS and became color commentator for the club's radio broadcasts in 2000 through last season, when his illness took him off the air. Fans turned out for a fundraiser for GAJAN, "HOKIE FEST 2016," two weeks ago in MADISONVILLE, LA.
