NEW FORM DIGITAL announced that renowned DUNCAN SHEIK will write and arrange the entire original score for new web series, "Pulse," from creator KYLE JARROW. The original series centers on a group of AMERICAN expatriates in BERLIN’s vibrant dance music scene, telling the story of a year in their lives as a lush and provocative EDM musical.
The collaboration with SHEIK is a natural fit given his extensive background in the music industry as both singer-songwriter and composer. After breaking through in the late '90s with his Top 20 single "Barely Breathing," he spent much of the subsequent decade focusing on albums that broke with pop music conventions, as well as "Spring Awakening," the BROADWAY hit that won him two TONY AWARDS and a GRAMMY in 2007. His current show, "AMERICAN Psycho," made its BROADWAY debut on APRIL 21st. JARROW is an OBIE-winning writer and musician whose plays have been performed across the U.S., CANADA and EUROPE.
Produced by NEW FORM DIGITAL the 12-episode series, "Pulse," will be available on GO90, a free mobile-first entertainment platform, later this year.
Commented NEW FORM DIGITAL Chief Creative Officer KATHLEEN GRACE: "People connect with stories through music and that’s incredibly important with 'Pulse,,' where music is essentially one of the characters. We are very excited about the collaboration with DUNCAN SHEIK to tap into his incredible talents and breadth of experience that will bring the show to life.”
