GLENN BECK's THEBLAZE has added three new executives as reports swirl that up to 40 employees are being laid off at the same time.
THE DAILY BEAST reports that the network's offices in NEW YORK and WASHINGTON, a documentary unit in OHIO, and business staffers working in the LOS ANGELES office formerly occupied by former CEO KRAIG KITCHIN are being closed and workers in those cities laid off at the behest of lenders who have provided millions in financing to keep the operation going. Operations are being consolidated at the network's IRVING, TX headquarters.
Meanwhile, former CORE MEDIA GROUP Chief Marketing Officer CHRIS GANNETT has joined THEBLAZE as SVP/Marketing; former CNN "NEW DAY" Exec. Producer and ABC "GOOD MORNING AMERICA: WEEKEND EDITION" producer MATT FRUCCI has joined as SVP/Content and Programming; and BET NETWORKS' LISA FOWLER is now at THEBLAZE as VP/Talent and Culture.
Pres. STEWART PADVEEN said, “THEBLAZE is investing heavily in our mission to redefine the way digital media is delivered and consumed. CHRIS, MATT and LISA are a significant part of a new high-performing culture and a diverse lineup of superstar talent.”
“I’m excited to join the company during this pivotal period to help THEBLAZE evolve into a unique platform designed for talented writers and personalities to connect with our audience and build their own,” said GANNETT.
