STEVE "WILDMAN" WILSON has retired as Public Affairs Coordinator from the ARKANSAS Game and Fish Commission, but the popular outdoors expert will continue to host the weekend "CALL OF THE WILD" show for CUMULUS News-Talk KARN-F/LITTLE ROCK and the ARKANSAS RADIO NETWORK as a direct employee of ARN, the network has announced. He has hosted the show for 10 years and retired from the government on APRIL 29th.
Market Manager KEITH LIESMANN said, “We have talked (WILSON) into continuing his show as an employee of ARN. Our affiliate partners let us know very quickly that the show was a staple in their Saturday morning line-ups and they felt no one could fill the WILDMAN’s shoes. We are so happy he has agreed to join us and continue to host the show.”
“I love ARKANSAS and the great outdoors that we offer to hunters, hikers, campers and fishermen and that’s what we talk about every SATURDAY morning, what’s available to them here in the Natural State,” said WILSON. “I love doing the show and the only thing that will be different is I’m not representing the Game and Fish Commission anymore, although you could probably say that I am still representing them since I spent my whole adult life working for them.”
