Team FTL Makes Final Push In Fundraising For Downtown Derby Bed Race

WARNER BROS./TEAM WEA VP/Promotion JORDAN PETTIT and W.A.R. VP/Promotion CHRIS PALMER are making a final push to the finish in collecting donations for the TJ MARTELL FOUNDATION via NASHVILLE's DOWNTOWN DERBY BED RACE in honor of the late LINDSAY WALLEMAN's birthday (NET NEWS 4/12). The event will take place TOMORROW (5/7) and has PETTIT, PALMER, and their team racing through the streets of NASHVILLE on a bed with wheels they custom built for the occasion.
"I am so thankful for everyone who has helped raise [under] $8,500 for our stupid little 'bed' on wheels that will be (dangerously) racing in DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE at BRIDGESTON PLAZA tomorrow at 9a!" PETTIT told ALL ACCESS. "And by racing...I mean a casual stroll with a 9a beer in hand and RIHANNA's "Birthday Cake" blasting from speakers hidden inside our birthday cake 'bed' that doesn't even have a mattress. But it's roughly the same size as a bed...that counts for something, right? I think LINDSAY would be proud of the 'train wreck' nature of our wheeled monstrosity. Not to mention -- has anyone ever seen CHRIS PALMER's muscular calf muscles? That's our secret weapon. (Don't tell the other teams.) We are seeking donations for the cause -- and your prayers that our shoddy engineering skills don't cause an injury. Obviously the only reason we're doing this is to raise money for a worthy cause. A large portion (approximately [98 cents]) of each dollar raised goes directly to the benefit of Sarcoma research. There is minimal overhead with the TJ MARTELL FOUNDATION...only maximum research impact that targets a sickness that affects so many."
PETTIT, PALMER, and crew have been hard at work in their fundraising efforts, even securing added donations via a lunch partnership with FLIPSIDE earlier this WEEK (NET NEWS 5/2). The team has raise just under $8,500 toward their goal of $10,000, and the team is currently $7,000 away from first place.
