A startup aims to be "the PANDORA for stand-up comedy," reports TECHCRUNCH. LAUGH.LY, founded by DAVE SCOTT, says it will offer an iOS app that will stream stand-up comedy routines with a genome in the manner of PANDORA, using transcriptions of the jokes to feed "smart playlists" and allow for customization. The streams will be ad-supported with a $7.99/month commercial-free subscription option available.
The service says it has deals with record labels and individual comics, building a library of over 400 comedians and 20,000 tracks. A launch is scheduled for this SUMMER.
