Songwriting powerhouses RHETT AKINS, DALLAS DAVIDSON, and BEN HAYSLIP – collectively known as the PEACH PICKERS – hosted the third annual "JAMESON IRISH WHISKEY PRESENTS GEORGIA ON MY MIND" event on TUESDAY, MAY 10th at RYMAN AUDITORIUM. The event opened with a guitar pull featuring songwriters COLE TAYLOR, TRAVIS DENNING, JON LANGSTON, JORDAN RAGER, and TREA LANDON.
The PEACH PICKERS performed a few of their countless hits, including LUKE BRYAN's "That's My Kind Of Night," BLAKE SHELTON's "Honey Bee," and more. With the help of LUKE BRYAN, RANDY HOUSER, LEE BRICE, TYLER FARR, CRAIG CAMPBELL, and a surprise performance from BILLY CURRINGTON –who closed the show with "GEORGIA On My Mind” – money raised from the event benefited THE GEORGIA MUSIC FOUNDATION (GMF).
DAVIDSON also took the stage with singer MAGGIE ROSE, OUTKAST rapper BIG BOI, and Hip-Hop producer MANNIE FRESH to perform their collaboration, “Laid Back,” a format-blurring cut from an upcoming DAVIDSON-FRESH project. Another highlight of the evening was the tribute to OTIS REDDING, the GEORGIA Soul icon who would have turned 75 years old this year. GMF board member DINAH GRETSCH and Chair DAVIDSON presented the FLAMEKEEPER AWARD to fellow GMF board member KARLA REDDING-ANDREWS and her brothers OTIS REDDING III and DEXTER REDDING, who performed a tribute to their father.
