The VIACOM board, after slicing the salary of the company's 92-year-old founder and Chariman Emeritus SUMNER REDSTONE, has now voted to not pay him at all, according to a report in CNNMONEY and DOW JONES.
The news comes amid the ailing media mogul being embroiled in a legal battle over his mental competency, a trial which was dismissed by a judge (NET NEWS 5/9).
In DECEMBER, VIACOM slashed REDSTONE's compensation after he received $2 million in salary in 2015, saying he was no longer eligible to receive a bonus or stock in the company (NET NEWS 1/21). His total compensation in 2014 was $13 million.
