Well-known and respected industry music executive ANA ROSA SANTIAGO has been appointed VP of LATIN Music at UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP, reporting to EVP LATIN Music ALEXANDRA LIOUTIKOFF as part of the company's strategic effort to expand opportunities for songwriters through U.S. and LATIN AMERICA.
SANTIAGO joins UMPG from ASCAP, where for 18 years she ran the PRO’s operation in PUERTO RICO and the CARIBBEAN, signing such artists and songwriters as DADDY YANKEE, TITO BAMBINO, LUIS FONSI, KANY GARCIA, PEDRO CAPO and SKY & BULL NENE, among many others. Prior to ASCAP, she worked in a creative role at PEER MUSIC, working with writers in the U.S., CENTRAL and SOUTH AMERICA.
In this newly created A&R and synch role, Santiago will sign and develop talent and work to create cross-border creative opportunities for UMPG songwriters, as well as promote and monetize UMPG’s extensive LATIN AMERICAN catalog.
LIOUTIKOFF commented on the appointment: “I’ve known ANA ROSA for most of her career and have always been impressed by her ear for talent and the professional and creative way she works with everyone in our industry. Her strong ability to identify A&R opportunities early is a key strength, and her relationships with writers, artists, publishers and PRO’s will provide us with a clear competitive advantage at the highest level. I’m thrilled to have her join the company.”
Added SANTIAGO: "I am very excited to have the opportunity to join UMPG in this new phase of my career. It is a great honor to be working with ALEXANDRA and the team to serve the amazing writers, composers and music creators of our industry."
