APPLE has JIMMY IOVINE and DR. DRE, and TIDAL has JAY-Z, and now SPOTIFY has its superstar in TROY CARTER, the former manager of LADY GAGA and MEGHAN TRAINOR, who has been named Global Head Of Creative Services, according to a report in the N.Y. TIMES.
CARTER's successful ATOM FACTORY management company is also involved in tech companies. In his new role, he will work as a liaison with artists and record companies, in helping SPOTIFY obtain additional content for the music streaming service. He will reportedly give up his management stake in acts like TRAINOR, CHARLIE PUTH and jazz phenom KAMASI WASHINGTON to take the new position.
CARTER now joins former VH1 President and veteran radio programmer TOM CALDERONE, who joined the company in MARCH as global head of SPOTIFY STUDIOS, video and content development (NEW NEWS 3/3).
