OHANA BROADCAST COMPANY Urban AC KUMU (94.7)/HONOLULU's third annual DRIVE FOR WISHES RADIOTHON, held last FRIDAY (JUNE 17th), raised $60,350 for MAKE-A-WISH HAWAII.
KUMU PD MICHAEL SHISHIDO said: “The MAKE-A-WISH model is so much more than a feel-good moment; there’s definite cause and effect in helping kids regain their health. And we love to support things like that.”
The 13-hour RADIOTHON included interviews with local WISH children and their families, a live phone bank and incentives to encourage monetary donations to fund wishes for local children with life-threatening medical conditions.
MAKE-A-WISH HAWAII President/CEO SIANA HUNT added: “Nearly 80% of our WISH children dream of an experience that requires air travel, to experience a land far away or simply reunite with their family on the mainland. Thanks to our compassionate partners and generous donors, every dollar raised will help these wishes take flight and inspire WISH children to look toward the future with renewed hope and optimism.”
