Harker Research: Is Radio Following Newspapers Down The Rabbit Hole?

In the latest edition of RICHARD HARKER's RADIO INSIGHTS blog, he asks the question, "Is Radio Chasing Newspaper To The Bottom?"
HARKER reveals that radio is following the failure of newspapers to reinvent itself for the digital age, claiming, "Newspaper companies placed a higher priority on protecting profits than defending revenue," citing the firing of newsroom personnel, replacing local stories with syndicated content, eliminating pages and even whole sections.
HARKER concludes "gutting conent to protect profits hasn't worked," and says "radio is following a similar course."
