After a 24-year run waking up the STEEL CITY, STEEL CITY MEDIA Hot AC WLTJ (Q 92.9)/PITTSBURGH morning man JIM KRENN is getting ready to sleep in. KRENN is perhaps best remembered for his years at crosstown WDVE.
A message posted today on the JIM KRENN Fan Page on FACEBOOK read, “Most of the on-air staff will be retained including Jim KRENN who is still under contract. KRENN will be involved with the station and new morning show in some way as a regular contributor but will be using, this time, to focus on other projects that preclude him from doing mornings full time. The station values this iconic talent and wants to continue to work with him."
"I'm looking forward to being a part of the STEEL CITY MEDIA family for years to come," said KRENN.
THE PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE reports the station noted, ""A mutual agreement has been reached by JIM KRENN and Q 92.9 FM, about the future of JIM KRENN & The Q Morning Show. With KRENN’s active schedule of charity work, comedy events, and various other commitments, both parties agree that this would be the best time for KRENN to pursue other obligations that will take him away from the daily duties of anchoring a show."
There's also an audio message from KRENN posted on www.q929fm.com, in which he thanks his listeners and says “this is not a goodbye. I will be back in some form” at STEEL CITY MEDIA. “That’s the radio business.”
