LAKE COUNTY COMMUNITY RADIO has been fined $1,500 for a late license renewal application at noncommercial Variety KPFZ/LAKEPORT, CA.
The licensee told the Commission that it had thought it had filed a complete renewal application, only to be told by the Media Bureau that it was incomplete, whereupon it assumed that everything was in order. It also claimed hardship because of its location in a poor county and because of a recent wildfire emergency eating into donations; the Commission rejected the claim due to a lack of supporting evidence. However, the Commission did say that it will renew the license if no other issues arise.
