Former CBS News Reporter, KMOX/St. Louis PD Dave Dugan Dies

Condolences to family and friends of former CBS NEWS reporter, journalism professor, and KMOX-A/ST. LOUIS PD DAVE DUGAN, who died JULY 23rd in OVERLAND PARK, KS at 85, according to the UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM.
DUGAN served as KMOX PD in 1989-93, after retiring as Chair of the Broadcast News Department at the UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI. He started his broadcasting career at DARTMOUTH COLLEGE's WDBS and worked at WHDL-A/OLEAN, NY, WEBR-A/BUFFALO, NY, WESB-A/BRADFORD, PA, WICU-TV/ERIE, and then, for 36 years, at CBS NEWS and CBS RADIO, where he first worked at WCBS-A/NEW YORK and then, after four months in sales, as a reported for CBS television. He joined the UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI in 1971, retiring in 1986 and doing part-time work at KNX-A/LOS ANGELES before his KMOX stint.
A graveside service is scheduled for next MONDAY (8/8) in ALLEGANY, NY with a memorial at the MISSOURI SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM on OCTOBER 29th. Donations in lieu of flowers are being accepted by the MISSOURI SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM or the DOWN SYNDROME GUILD OF GREATER KANSAS CITY.
