HOLSTON VALLEY BROADCASTING CORPORATION is selling Classic Hits WUKZ-A (KZ101.1 FM) and Country WMEV-F (FM 94)/MARION, VA and W266BM/RURAL RETREAT, VA to BRISTOL BROADCASTING COMPANY, INC. for $1.75 million.
In other filings with the FCC, COMMONBOND FOUNDATION is selling noncommercial Jazz KSVY/SONOMA, CA and operational rights to an associated local cable TV channel in SONOMA (SVTV, Channel 27) to SONOMA VALLEY COMMUNITY COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $1.
STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK is selling W260BE/WATERTOWN, NY to THE FINGERLAKES RADIO GROUP, INC. for $25,000. The buyer plans to move the translator to rebroadcast an unnamed AM station; the primary station is presently listed as noncommercial News-Talk WRVJ/WATERTOWN, NY.
ROCKET RADIO CORP. has requested an extension of its Silent STA for K247CF/PAYSON, AZ due to tower structure issues and malfunctioning equipment.
DAVIS MEDIA, LLC has closed on the sale of Triple A WWNU (92.1 THE PALM)/IRMO-COLUMBIA, SC to RADIO TRAINING NETWORK, INC. for $1 million. The buyer has flipped the station to Contemporary Christian as HIS RADIO.
TED SCHOBER's CITY COMMONS LLC NJ SERIES A has closed on the sale of W248CG/JERSEY CITY, NJ to CANTICO NUEVO MINISTRY, INC. for $1.6 million. The station relays the buyer's Spanish Religion WJDM-A/JERSEY CITY.
And WAY MEDIA, INC. has closed on the sale of the construction permit for FM translator W298BS/PAYNE, GA to CHRISTOPHER L. MURRAY for $20,000.
Also, ROGER L. HOPPE, II has been issued a proposed $5,000 fine and two-year short-term license renewal for KLIM-A/LIMON, CO for taking the station silent without requesting the appropriate Silent STA; the station did get STAs for four silent periods but a fifth, covering DECEMBER 11, 2011 to DECEMBER 6, 2012, had no application for a Silent STA on file. The station was off the air for a total of three and one-third years before the license expiration and 17 months while the license renewal was pending. The Commission will rule on the sale of the station to CATHOLIC RADIO NETWORK, INC. once the short-term renewal is granted.
The Commission also entered into a Consent Decree with TOM HODGINS and MCKENZIE RIVER BROADCASTING CO., INC. that will see HODGINS and MRBC jointly paying a $5,000 fine to resolve an issue of unauthorized transfer of control of K277CT/COTTAGE GROVE, OR. MRBC had an option to buy the construction permit HODGINS obtained for the translator and the terms that allowed for MRBC to reimburse HODGINS for all costs of getting the permit, with a $1,000 advance, was considered a premature transfer of control.
And MEDIA-COM, INC. has surrendered the license of WJMP-A/KENT, OH.
In a deal yet to appear in the database, COMMUNITY MEDIA ASSISTANCE PROJECT is selling W264CV/DONELSON, TN to DON FOWLER's FOWLERS HOLDINGS LLLP for $44,500. The buyer plans to move the translator to rebroadcast Classic Country WLIL-A/LENOIR CITY, TN. GEORGE KIMBLE of KOZACKO MEDIA SERVICES served as broker for the deal.
