STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK AT OSWEGO is selling W266CV/DRYDEN, NY to PITTSBURGH PUBLIC MEDIA for $50,000. The buyer plans to move the translator to rebroadcast Jazz WZUM-A/BRADDOCK, PA, which simulcasts noncommercial Jazz WYZR-F/BETHANY, WV.
In other filings with the FCC, RADIO BEAM, LLC is selling K239BO/NEWPORT, OR to RICHARD A. LINN for $25,000.
GROWING CHRISTIAN FOUNDATION is selling K287AK/PRINEVILLE, OR to SUNRIVER BROADCASTING CORP. for $7,000.
BOLD GOLD MEDIA GROUP, L.P. has applied for a Silent STA for W278CF/SCRANTON, PA due to interference issues.
iHEARTMEDIA's AMFM BROADCASTING LICENSES, LLC has closed on the transfer of Sports KLAC-A (AM 570 LA SPORTS)/LOS ANGELES to LOS ANGELES BROADCASTING PARTNERS, LLC, owned 51% by iHEARTMEDIA's AMFM and 49% by the LOS ANGELES DODGERS.
CANAAN COMMUNICATIONS INC. has closed on the sale of Southern Gospel WVRY/WAVERLY, TN to MIKE PARCHMAN's M P MEDIA LLC for $900,000.
And JADON BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the transfer back of Gospel KDMS-A and Country KLBQ (REAL AMERICAN COUNTRY 98.7)/EL DORADO, AR to EL DORADO BROADCASTING CO. in settlement of a lawsuit over payment of a note and lease and the alleged unlawful detaining of the tower site and studio building. EL DORADO has immediately turned around and sold the two stations to NOALMARK BROADCASTING CORP. for $600,000, with BILL CATE and BILL WHITLEY of MEDIA SERVICES GROUP as exclusive brokers for the new deal.
The Commission also renewed PACIFICA FOUNDATION, INC.'s license for noncommercial Variety WBAI/NEW YORK over informal objections by EDWARD MANFREDONIA, DANIEL MILLER, and MARSHA VANDER HEYDEN, which alleged theft (alleged purchase of equipment that was then stolen), fraud (issues with a loan from a board member), bribery, improper business practices (use of consultants and a board member having "undue influence over hiring"), and public file violations, plus issues with programming. The Commission said that the "majority" of the allegations, mostly made by MANFREDONIA, include "conclusory allegations unsubstantiated by any extrinsic evidence."
And the Commission denied PRESS COMMUNICATIONS, LLC's challenge to a consent decree that paved the way for the renewal of the ATLANTIC CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION's license for noncommercial WAJM/ATLANTIC CITY; PRESS had filed against WAJM's 2010 renewal application and had an application for changes to its WBHX/TUCKERTON, NJ that conflicted with WAJM's license and hinged on the WAJM license having expired on JUNE 1, 2006. The Commission decided that a licensee's failure to timely file a renewal application does not mandate the loss of the license if another licensee discovers the failure and files a conflicting application.
