FOX NEWS has named Senior EVP BILL SHINE and FOX TELEVISION STATIONS CEO JACK ABERNETHY as co-Presidents to fill the role left open after the resignation-under-fire of former CEO ROGER AILES, who faces sexual harassment charges in a lawsuit by former anchor GRETCHEN CARLSON and has been accused in public statements by other former and current FOX NEWS employees. At the same time, the network announced the departure of CFO MARK KRANZ and the appointment of SUZANNE SCOTT as EVP of Programming and Development; JAY WALLACE will continue as EVP of News Editorial, to which he was promoted in APRIL.
21ST CENTURY FOX Chairman/CEO and FOX NEWS acting CEO RUPERT MURDOCH said that SHINE "has developed and produced a signature primetime that has dominated the cable news landscape for 14 of his 20 years with FOX NEWS. His leadership and keen eye for programming has played a fundamental role in the success of both FOX NEWS and FOX BUSINESS NETWORK.” On ABERNETHY, who will handle advertising, finance, sales and distribution, MURDOCH said he "was integral to the launch and success of FOX NEWS nearly 20 years ago and we're delighted he's returning to take on this additional role. As we continue to benefit from his strong leadership of FOX TELEVISION STATIONS, his strategic vision and deep knowledge of the cable news business will ensure continued growth of FOX NEWS and FOX BUSINESS NETWORK for generations to come."
