September 26, 2016 at 5:26 PM (PT)
VIN SCULLY's final baseball broadcast on SUNDAY (10/2) for SPECTRUM SPORTSNET LA will get a full simulcast on iHEARTMEDIA/DODGERS Sports KLAC-A (AM 570 LA SPORTS)/LOS ANGELES as well.
The Hall of Fame broadcaster, whose calls have normally been simulcast only for the first three innings, will be heard for the full game on radio and television (including a simulcast on TRIBUNE CW affiliate KTLA (TV)/LOS ANGELES for the sizable portion of the LOS ANGELES market unable to receive SPECTRUM SPORTSNET LA). The game from SAN FRANCISCO will be the end of SCULLY's 67-season career calling DODGER baseball, dating back to 1950 in BROOKLYN; GIANTS flagships CUMULUS Sports KNBR-A/SAN FRANCISCO and CSN BAY AREA will simulcast SCULLY's call of the third inning.
“We wanted to make sure that all of VIN’s fans are able to share in his final DODGER broadcast of an incredible 67-year Hall of Fame career,” said DODGERS EVP/CMO LON ROSEN. “We want to thank our partner, IHEARTMEDIA, (radio voices) CHARLEY STEINER, RICK MONDAY and VIN for making this possible for all our viewers and listeners.”
“The Dodgers, IHEARTMEDIA and KLAC all came together and thought it would be only fitting that we simulcast VIN SCULLY’s final broadcast to the DODGERS Network on SUNDAY from SAN FRANCISCO,” said iHEARTMEDIA/LOS ANGELES SVP/Sports DON MARTIN. “We also want to thank DODGER broadcasters CHARLEY STEINER and RICK MONDAY, who also felt strongly that our listeners should be able to hear VIN’s final call of his unbelievable 67-year career.”
SCULLY called his final home game SUNDAY (9/25), broadcasting the DODGERS' division-clinching win over COLORADO in extra innings. He is scheduled to finish his career with the series against the GIANTS in SAN FRANCISCO next weekend.
