SUN BROADCAST GROUP turns eight years old today. The national radio network is home of SHAZAM FOR RADIO, the NCAA GAME OF THE WEEK WITH SPORTSUSA and SUN LATINO, the largest privately owned Spanish-language radio network in AMERICA. As it does each year, SUN has unveiled its new look and company slogan: “Fearlessly Bold.”
“When we opened our doors in NOVEMBER 2008, BARACK OBAMA had just been elected President, The iPHONE App Store had just opened and the global financial crisis had started to grip the nation with the collapse of LEHMAN BROS.," SUN BROADCAST GROUP CEO JASON BAILEY said. "In radio, companies like DIAL GLOBAL, AIR AMERICA and CITADEL were still part of our daily conversation. Eight years later so much is different. What hasn’t changed, however, is SUN’s commitment to this great industry and our unwavering goal to be a better kind of radio company while having fun along the way. I couldn’t be more proud of the entire SUN team! Now ... off to the Situation Room to celebrate!”
In 2016 SUN announced its purchase of DEE SNIDER’s “House of Hair”, a new partnership with RADIO EXPRESS HISPANIC, and massive increases in its affiliate lineup with more than 600 stations in both general market and Hispanic. Just last week SUN also announced its renewal with DAVE SCOTT’s RADIOTRAFFIC.
"As we say in Spanish ‘El sol sale para todos’," SUN COO JULIO APONTE said. “Which means the SUN shines for everyone. In this ever-evolving space, the great partnerships we continue to enjoy across our industry are a true testament that we have stayed true to our mission from day one. We believe that working together and creating great strategic partnerships with other forward thinking, creative companies creates a stronger, better product for those listeners who consume it and the advertisers who support it.”
