CJMB (Extra 90.5)/Peterborough, ON Offers Jobs To Recently Fired Ex-FS1 Anchors Jay Onrait And Dan O'Toole

With FS1 letting "FOX SPORTS LIVE" hosts JAY ONRAIT and DAN O'TOOLE go last week, MY BROADCASTING CORP. Sports CJMB (EXTRA 90.5)/PETERBOROUGH, ON has extended a tongue-in-cheek offer to the popular former TSN "SPORTSCENTRE" anchors to return to CANADA as hosts on their station.

GM ROB MISE issued a press release and read it on the air, saying, "The last time CANADA felt this upset was when EDMONTON traded GRETZKY to the KINGS, it's time to bring them back to the mother land.  We know an investment in JAY and DAN would pay off ten fold, not to mention  they would be outstanding mentors to our young talent on THE REGULARS with JORDAN and COLIN.  JAY and DAN's unique brand of humour and sports knowledge would be a perfect  addition to our line-up of talent including BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE, JIM ROME, SCOTTY  FERRALL, and THE REGULARS.  We would make one small change, the show would need to be DAN and JAY, as DAN O'TOOLE is a PETERBOROUGH native."

The "offer" includes an afternoon drive slot, syndication, free junior hockey PETERBOROUGH PETES tickets, two week's vacation, a salary 20% above the city's median income, benefits, use of the station cruiser (as available), station golf shirts, "free pizza from time to time," and TIM HORTON'S coffee.

ONRAIT and O'TOOLE were lured away from TSN by FOX SPORTS to be lead anchors of FS1's nightly highlights show in 2013, but the network in the last year changed its focus towards debate-style programming with confrontational personalities like SKIP BAYLESS and COLIN COWHERD under new boss JAMIE HOROWITZ.  ONRAIT and O'TOOLE's "THE JAY AND DAN PODCAST" has also stopped production for now, with FEBRUARY 15th's episode being the last posted.
