WMBI Receives Award For Tsunami Feature

MOODY Contemporary Christian WMBI (90.1)/CHICAGO received a “CERTIFICATE OF MERIT” at the 41ST ANNUAL GABRIEL AWARDS for its feature “REMEMBERING THE TSUNAMI” about the aftermath of the tsunami that hit INDONESIA in DECEMBER 2004. WMBI morning show host/producer MICHELLE STROMBECK and producer/announcer STEVE HILLER were on hand to accept the award.
Other award recipients included the WORLD VISION REPORT, NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO, CANADIAN BROADASTING COMPANY and XM SATELLITE RADIO. This year’s “PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD” was given to ANNE SWEENEY, Co-Chair/DISNEY MEDIA NETWORKS and Pres./DISNEY-ABC TELEVISION GROUP.
The event was held at the DIRECTORS GUILD in LOS ANGELES. The GABRIEL AWARDS are named after the angel GABRIEL who told the Good News of the coming of Christ and salutes broadcasters who strive for values-centered programming.
