Back From Iraq In One Piece

He's b-a-a-a-a-ck! JEFFERSON-PILOT Top 40 WSTR (STAR 94)/ATLANTA afternoon co-host RAY MARINER arrived back in the USA yesterday (10/16) from his historic 4-day broadcast in IRAQ.
MARINER told ALL ACCESS, "The scariest part about this whole trip was being on patrol and being under fire, and passing some of the locations where there had been some roadside bombings with fatalities. The military cargo vehicle we flew into IRAQ did this corkscrew maneuver where you plummet in for a landing as fast as possible as the whole area is like a battle zone. They banked the plane so hard, I thought we'd been shot. And getting off the plane was a real shocker, it was like being on the moon.
"My hat's off to our soldiers. They are there to do their jobs, protect each other, and come back home as soon as possible. Overall, a positive attitude over there from our troops who are at one minute fighting the enemy, and the next working with kids and showing campassion for the families who have been suffering for a long time. They showed a lot of restraint. I'd encourage other stations to do this – it's been very rewarding for me and for them as well."
