Copps Column Calls For Readers To Attend Seattle 'Town Hall Meeting'
November 29, 2006 at 12:35 PM (PT)
It's pretty much what he's said a thousand times (or more) before, but FCC Commissioner MICHAEL COPPS is telling SEATTLE folks to come out to his and Commissioner JONATHAN ADELSTEIN's "town hall meeting" on THURSDAY (11/30) in a SEATTLE TIMES op-ed column in today's editions.
The article, titled "Take Control Of YOUR Airwaves," repeats COPPS' warning that "the openness of our media is under direct threat from the very federal agency charged with promoting media localism and diversity" and implores readers to tell the Commission "whether SEATTLE's and the nation's broadcasters are holding up their end of the bargain" in receiving licenses in exchange for operating in the public interest.
