JOE CALITRI has been tapped as the first GM of FUELED BY RAMEN RECORDS. CALITRI -- who will oversee FBR's day-to-day activities, with concentration on the label's marketing initiatives -- previously spent seven years at ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP, most recently as VP/Field Marketing.
"We are happy to have JOE in our family," FBR co-founder JOHN JANICK said. "The climate of our industry requires us to constantly come up with fresh, innovative ideas to market our artists and to be able to act quickly to launch and develop creative campaigns. JOE is the perfect fit for FUELED BY RAMEN because he has the experience in the grass-roots marketing that is our focus, and at the same time he gets the big picture. We're celebrating our 10th anniversary this year, and the growth and success we have been enjoying makes it essential that we have someone on board to ensure that we keep doing the best possible job in bringing the best independent music to the marketplace."
CALITRI said, "I am honored to work with a brand as strong as FUELED BY RAMEN. JOHN JANICK and his team have built something very special here, and I look forward to using my experience to help take the company to the next level."
CALITRI began his career with POLYGRAM GROUP DISTRIBUTION, first as a Field Marketing Rep in SAN FRANCISCO in 1995-96 and then as Artist Development Rep in SEATTLE.
FBR's roster includes FALL OUT BOY, THE ACADEMY IS..., GYM CLASS HEROES, PANIC! AT THE DISCO and more.
