WSB's Krok Tests Reactions To Burqa
December 8, 2006 at 5:50 AM (PT)
COX Talk WSB-A/ATLANTA night host CHRIS KROK decided to test the theory advanced by a local paper's editorial about a woman allegedly afraid of another woman wearing a burqa at a local mall by putting on a burqa himself and heading to PERIMITER MALL to gauge reactions. The result: One store called security, the mall SANTA glared at him, and he overheard other shoppers disapproving.
KROK has been vocal in his objection to covering one's face in this culture, noting that the KORAN does not prescribe covering women's faces and hands, and he told listeners that the stunt did not change his mind. A Muslim woman who listens to the show and does not subscribe to the necessity of wearing a burqua supplied the burqa for KROK's walk.
