ENTERCOM's "I'm Listening" mental health initiative is being honored with an award from the NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILLNESS NORTH TEXAS, which is bestowing the Media Award on the radio company as one of its 2018 Community Awards. "I'm Listening" included a two-hour national broadcast to mark the start of National Suicide Prevention Week on ENTERCOM stations and its RADIO.COM streaming service on SEPTEMBER 9th. The award will be presented at a dinner in DALLAS on DECEMBER 6th, with ENTERCOM Sports KRLD-F (105.3 THE FAN)/DALLAS TEXAS RANGERS play-by-play voice ERIC NADEL as emcee.
“’I’m Listening’ is one of our signature productions meant to save lives,” said ENTERCOM SVP, Programming Innovation LIANA HUTH. “We know that talking makes a difference and our stations are proud to help remove the stigma around mental illness. It’s okay to not be okay. Many thanks to our partners, including the DALLAS-FORT WORTH HOSPITAL COUNCIL. Together we are part of a vast network working every day to help and serve those affected.”
“Without outstanding individuals and organizations like LINDA EVANS; AT&T; ENTERCOM; the DFW HOSPITAL COUNCIL; BRIAN CRAIG, the law enforcement community and many others, we wouldn’t have the groundswell of support for mental health awareness, training and improved services,” said NAMI NORTH TEXAS Board President SHERRY CUSUMANO. “We are so proud to honor those who do so much for our community.”
