Viacom To Split Before End Of Year

VIACOM is in hurry-up mode regarding its impending split into two companies, moving the split date up to before the end of 2005. The company previously had announced that the split would occur sometime in first quarter 2006. 

As previously announced, the new VIACOM will include MTV NETWORKS, BET, PARAMOUNT PICTURES, PARAMOUNT HOME ENTERTAINMENT, and FAMOUS MUSIC, while the new CBS CORP. will include INFINITY, CBS, UPN, VIACOM OUTDOOR, the VIACOM TV O&Os, PARAMOUNT TELEVISION, KING WORLD, SIMON AND SCHUSTER, SHOWTIME, and PARAMOUNT PARKS theme parks.
