Boston Liberals Want Their Talk Station Back

If it worked in MADISON, a local BOSTON woman reasons, why can't HUB-area liberals revive the "progressive talk" format on CLEAR CHANNEL's now-Spanish WKOX-A & WXKS-A (RUMBA)/BOSTON?
The BOSTON HERALD reports that a local artist, ROBIN BERGMAN, has started an online group called "SAVE BOSTON PROGRESSIVE TALK" to pressure CLEAR CHANNEL to bring back the liberal talk programming jettisoned recently by the company, following the lead of a listener protest that delayed the execution of the format at WXXM (92.1 THE MIC)/MADISON.
One potential snag: Unlike the MADISON station, which had garnered some ratings success but not revenues, the BOSTON stations had consistently ranked near the bottom of the market in both ratings and revenue, a situation the format's supporters tie to the simulcast's signal deficiencies.
