Arbitron Advertiser/Agency Advisory Council Issues PPM Resolution

The ARBITRON ADVERTISER/AGENCY ADVISORY COUNCIL is encouraging all stations -- subscribers and non-subscribers -- in PHILADELPHIA, NEW YORK, and HOUSTON to participate in the encoding process for the introduction of the PORTABLE PEOPLE METER (PPM).
The following statement was released today (1/3):
"Whether the station elects to subscribe to the service is a decision that is clearly theirs. However, we believe that it is imperative for each station to encode, especially since there is no cost to the station for encoding. This will give advertisers, marketers, agencies, and stations the ability to understand and better evaluate radio in the new world of electronic measurement.
We encourage all broadcasters in each upcoming PPM market to step forward and embrace the future....
