January 8, 2007 at 5:55 AM (PT)
ACTRA, the union that represents CANADA's radio, TV, and film workers, has called a strike for today (1/8) in ONTARIO, MANITOBA, and SASKATCHEWAN in its ongoing dispute over a new contract with producers.
Negotiations continue on a new deal, and productions holding interim agreements with ACTRA are not affected, nor are student films and commercials. A strike in QUEBEC is expected for WEDNESDAY, followed by other provinces.
