THE NEW YORK TIMES COMPANY Classical WQXR/NEW YORK has entered into a multi-year agreement with ARBITRON that includes the PORTABLE PEOPLE METER (PPM) audience measurement services when deployed in NEW YORK.
WQXR GM TOM BARTUNEK commented, "We look forward to the more detailed and dynamic information that the PORTABLE PEOPLE METER will be able to generate. It’s our expectation that our audience and its listening habits will be more thoroughly measured than heretofore, and we plan to make good use of the data it provides on behalf of both our audience and our advertisers."
"The PORTABLE PEOPLE METER will be an ideal programming and sales tool for the leading Classical radio station in the country’s largest radio market," said ARBITRON VP/Sales CAROL HANLEY. "We’re confident that WQXR will be in the forefront of the information that the PPM system can provide in order to serve their knowledgeable and passionate listeners."
