UNIVISION RADIO is expanding the syndication of KSCA (LA NUEVA)/LOS ANGELES-based morning show "PIOLIN POR LA MANANA," hosted by EDDIE "PIOLIN" SOTELO, to an additional eight of its owned stations, including WZAA/NEW YORK and WPPN/CHICAGO.
The additional stations are KLNV/SAN DIEGO, KCOR-A/SAN ANTONIO, KBNA/EL PASO, KJFA/ALBURQUERQUE, KBGT-A/MCALLEN, and a one-hour show on SATURDAY on WRTO/MIAMI.
"This will make this program the most listened-to and widely syndicated Spanish-language radio morning show in the history of Spanish-language radio in the U.S.," said VP/Programming J.D. GONZALES.
WZAA Splits From Simulcast, Goes Regional Mexican
GONZALEZ also confirmed to ALL ACCESS that the company has split the simulcast of WCAA (105.9 FM) & WZAA (92.7 FM)/NEW YORK to place the new regional Mexican format on 92.7 FM. WZAA (QUE BUENA) will feature PIOLIN in mornings, as noted above, and music through out the day.
GERARDO LOPEZ, who oversees all the stations that carry PIOLIN's show, will also oversee QUE BUENA's programming until a local PD is named.
