Hartmut Ostrowski To Lead Bertelsmann

BERTELSMANN today (1/19) announced that HARTMUT OSTROWSKI would become its next CEO next JANUARY 1 to replace GUNTER THIELEN, who will become Chairman of the company's supervisory board; current Chairman DIETER VOGEL will exit the board after 20 years.
OSTROWSKI is currently head of the company's Arvato Services division. VOGEL said, "By appointing HARTMUT OSTROWSKI, we acknowledge the fact that tomorrow's media business will be driven by technological developments."
ROLF BUCH of Arvato Direct Services will take OSTROWSKI's old post.
