CMA Presents International Awards To Aussies And Brits

The Country Music Association recently honored six recipients with international awards. CMA COO TAMMY GENOVESE said, "CMA is thrilled to honor the efforts of these six individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to support and promote Country music in AUSTRALIA, the UNITED KINGDOM, and around the world."
ENTERTAINMENT EDGE CEO and CMA Board Member ROB POTTS surprised TIM DALEY and IAN HOLLAND with awards recognizing their continued support of Country music on JANUARY 30 in SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA. DALEY is the Program Manager for the COUNTRY MUSIC CHANNEL and received the 2006 WESLEY ROSE INTERNATIONAL MEDIA ACHIEVEMENT AWARD. This award recognizes outstanding achievements in the media that contribute to the development of Country music outside of the UNITED STATES. HOLLAND won the INTERNATIONAL COUNTRY BROADCASTER AWARD, which recognizes outstanding contributions to Country music by a broadcaster based outside the UNITED STATES. Lastly, AUSSIE and CHUGG ENTERTAINMENT Exec. Chairman MICHAEL CHUGG was awarded the 2006 CMA INTERNATIONAL TALENT BUYER/PROMOTER AWARD. The award honors an individual who has contributed to the advancement of Country music by creative artist tour packaging and development, and producing new and creative Country music promotions.
On the other side of the world, in the UNITED KINGDOM, MCB3 owner ALAN MCBLANE was surprised with the 2006 JO WALKER MEADOR INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD on FEBRUARY 1 by JACE EVERETT and JULIE ROBERTS. This award recognizes outstanding achievement in advocating and supporting Country music's market development outside of NORTH AMERICA. EVERETT and ROBERTS also presented HELEN MACPHERSON with the second 2006 CMA INTERNATIONAL COUNTRY BROADCASTER AWARD. CMA VP/Strategic Marketing RICK MURRAY and CMA International Dir. BOBBI BOYCE surprised TIM ROGERS with the third 2006 INTERNATIONAL COUNTRY BROADCASTER AWARD over lunch.
