Former CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Rock (now Active Rock) WKLS (96 ROCK, now PROJECT 9-6-1)/ATLANTA morning "REGULAR GUYS" co-host LARRY WACHS is celebrating the dismissal of the criminal case pushed by former WVVA (VIVA 105.7) morning team JUAN "YOGI" TAPIA and JOSE "PANDA" CARIAS against him for the notorious bathroom-taping incident last OCTOBER 9 that led to WACHS' and partner ERIC VON HAESSLER's firing. The case, which claimed a violation of GEORGIA law, has been officially thrown out by FULTON COUNTY MAGISTRATE COURT.
I've been exonerated. I did nothing wrong.
"I've been exonerated," WACHS tells ALL ACCESS. "I did nothing wrong." The taping incident brought to a climax what WACHS at the time described as a months-long campaign by YOGI AND PANDA touched off by an on-air disagreement with the REGULAR GUYS over illegal immigration; WACHS noted at the time that comments and insults by TAPIA and CARIAS on the tape showed their awareness that audio tape was rolling. Since the incident, WACHS has filled in at CBS Talk WFNY-F (92.3 FREE FM)/NEW YORK and maintains his "HOUSE OF WACHS" blog, while CARIAS continues in mornings at WVVA and TAPIA has left the market.
